Your role
As a Freight Sales Manager you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role is to generate profitable new volume and revenue growth across P&O Ferrymasters products within European D2D business in trailers and containers to/from Turkey (Asset and Freight Forwarding). Focus to be on lead generation and sales to new accounts as well as growing same over time.
Key responsibilities
- Win new business.
- Generate and qualify leads of potential new customers.
- Develop and nurture leads/opportunities generated.
- Sharing leads with colleagues (meaning receiving and giving).
- Plan, prepare and carry out virtual and F2F meetings with potential new customers.
- Involve and align with all relevant internal stakeholders e.g. Customer Service and Product during the sales process.
- Create high-quality handover/onboarding of customers with Customer Service.
- Share market insights with colleagues contributing to the development of pricing structure.
- Support Tender Management in creating competitive responses to tenders.
- CRM is to be up to date at any given time.
- Sales and market reports are to be made on a regular basis including your sales activities, pipeline etc.
- Attend weekly sales meetings.
- Attend exhibitions and conferences when needed.
Your profile
- Very good working knowledge of the English language
- Good knowledge of MS Office packages / CRM etc.
- Good negotiator
- Clear and direct communication skills
- 3-5 years' experience with sales in Freight Forwarding or similar
- ‘Hunter’ and a ‘winner’
