Logistics Forwarder Specialist

Your Role

As a Logistics Forwarder Specialist you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role is to organize and to control the collection and delivery of goods on behalf of all customers and to be responsible for the whole customer order acceptance linked with administrative activities.

Key Responsibilities

You will play an active part in the company's logistics development and contribute through innovative ideas for business development. Next to this you will have the following tasks:

  • To put in booking information on the corporate IT databases in a timely, accurate and correct manner and to safeguard that this is kept up to date throughout the course of the day. To this end to ensure that operational difficulties are being pursued on behalf of the customer and to take necessary actions when the required company standards are not being met
  • To provide an efficient and cost-effective collection and delivery service by properly using group and subcontracted resources
  • To build a constructive and pleasant relationship with dedicated customer base, building a strong rapport with customers
  • To ensure all customer agreements (i.e. rate-; fuel- and invoice agreements) are recorded and applied
  • To be pro-active in the solving of problems that may/or will result in customer dissatisfaction with service (i.e., failure in agreed service level, delays etc.)
  • To advise customers on developments with regards to deliveries and collections including any changes to the agreed service level, delays, extra costs etc.
  • To keep all responsible levels, especially direct Logistic Manager and General Manager, advised immediately about every event which defers to the normal workflow
  • To liaise closely with hauliers to ensure that they have full and accurate information to complete the job
  • Once delivery is completed, to update the computer system to invoicing stage. To ensure all information entered the system is correct
  • To ensure all statutory requirements are met. Specifically relating to hazardous loads and documentation
  • To resolve all queries with purchase invoices
  • To raise service incidents and insurance claim files as appropriate
  • To analyse transport orders by high profile customers and to suggest further development of important accounts
  • To assist the General Manager in the research and preparation of various assignments.
Your profile 
  • A solid technical and/or economical education
  • A minimum of 4 years of work experience in a customer-oriented operational position
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office packages
  • Good command of Italian, English and other languages.
  • Affinity with logistics and transport throughout Europe
  • Good knowledge of MS Office packages
  • Teamwork, accuracy
